Sleutelverantwoordelikhede:

• Voertuigonderhoud: Voer roetine-dienste, voorkomende instandhouding en herstelwerk uit op dieselvragmotors en bakkies om optimale werkverrigting en veiligheid te verseker.
• Diagnostiek: Gebruik diagnostiese gereedskap en toerusting om meganiese probleme en foute te identifiseer.
• Afbreekwerk: Reageer op voertuigafbreke, beide op die perseel en buite, om stilstand te minimaliseer en bedrywighede vinnig te herstel.
• Inspeksies: Voer deeglike voertuiginspeksies uit om slytasie of potensiële probleme te identifiseer.
• Herstelwerk: Oorhaal en vervang foutiewe onderdele, insluitend enjins, ratkaste, remme en ander meganiese komponente.
• Rekordhouding: Hou akkurate rekords van alle onderhouds- en herstelwerk wat uitgevoer is.
• Veiligheidsnakoming: Verseker dat alle herstelwerk en dienste aan veiligheids- en nakomingsstandaarde voldoen.
• Span Samewerking: Werk nou saam met die vloot- en operasionele span om onderhoud te skeduleer en dringende herstelwerk te hanteer.

Minimum Vereistes:

• Gekwalifiseerde Dieselwerktuigkundige-sertifisering.
• Bewese ondervinding as ’n Dieselwerktuigkundige met kundigheid in die diens en herstel van dieselvoertuie.
• Bereidwilligheid om oortyd te werk en afbreekwerk te hanteer, insluitend na-ure.

Vaardighede en Eienskappe:

• Tegniese Vaardigheid: Diep begrip van dieselenjins en voertuigstelsels, met die vermoë om foute akkuraat te diagnoseer en te herstel.
• Probleemoplossing: Vinnige en doeltreffende foutopsporing en oplossingsvermoë.
• Presteer Onder Druk: Vermoë om goed te funksioneer in hoëdruk situasies, veral tydens afbreke of streng sperdatums.
• Aandag aan Detail: Verseker dat alle herstelwerk en onderhoud tot die hoogste standaard uitgevoer word.
• Spanwerker: Samewerkende ingesteldheid met die vermoë om goed binne ’n span te werk en effektief te kommunikeer.
• Aanpasbaarheid: Buigsaamheid om oortyd te werk en aan te pas by dinamiese operasionele vereistes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on diesel trucks and bakkies to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues and faults.
• Breakdowns: Respond to vehicle breakdowns, both onsite and offsite, to minimize downtime and restore operations promptly.
• Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues.
• Repair Work: Overhaul and replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other mechanical components.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and servicing meet safety and compliance standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the fleet and operations team to schedule maintenance and address urgent repairs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic certification.
• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with expertise in servicing and repairing diesel vehicles.
• Willingness to work overtime and attend to breakdowns, including after hours.
